Mountain Love Story

Living the Dream

“I never really had a choice in the matter” – true words of describing the climbing bug. And so awesome to actually see someone that’s not a professional go out and film their American Alpine Club Grant sponsored trip.

Ancient Art climb + base jump

Just amazing. Skip to 1:00 mark and on for the good fun. So lets see; now with snow shoes, another set of cams, and a new rope – I have to add a parachute to my gear list additions..life is fun.

(note, life is not fun if you’re a hitch-hiker with a crazy fuck driver who thinks he’s jesus)

The Equation

Really cool artistic adventure story, different compared to the normal adventure film. A little softer, a little more interpretation.

Raw footage Moon Silhouette

This is footage straight off his memory card, using a 1300 billion watt lens. Awesome.

Side note: if you like Local Natives, their new album is streaming on Soundcloud for a few weeks before it goes on sale.

In case you missed it..

The award winning mountaineering short doc above.  The narrative parts are superb.

Camp 4 + Forge Motion

Camp 4 Collective and Forge Motion Pictures have both been independently making badasseness for years. Camp 4 Collective is why the Meru ascent of the Fin is so well known – due to how well it was documented. These two companies teaming up is going to be an epic combination of talent on and off the computer.

Red Rocks

Some smooth fun clips to inspire a trip to Red Rocks that’s for sure. There’s been a lot of chatter about heading there soon. East, or West in April? hmmm….

I Beat Mike Tyson

A really well made intimate short (10min) documentary of a guy who beat Mike Tyson, but clearly has some other battles going on inside his life.

Within Ourselves

..I think this timelapse got me sucked in because these damn English ascents, and of course the very recognizable Neil deGrasse Tyson voice that describes the awesomeness that is us. The basic elements of the universe which we’re made of. Here’s to living and never knowing why.
